Cannot connect bluetooth to my iPhone

Hello - my bluetooth icon (top right on MacBook Pro is paired with my iPhone but when i go to it to take some pics off of it all it comes back with is this message: The device does not have the necessary services, - bluetooth on on phone, can anyone help, thanks

MacBook Pro, 10.6.4

Welcome to Apple Support Communities 🙂

It won't work that way you can't access the iPhone storage via Bluetooth, run iPhoto and in the Preferences set it to launch when a camera is connected (via USB to iPhone cable), then you will be able to Import the images from the phone into the Mac.
