i'm trying to connect Apple TV to a wireless network that requires a browser-based login. I can't find a way on apple TV to enter the password to the network. what am i missing?
As AppleTv has no browser you can't login.
It won't work.

Enter your web based username & password as you normally would when connecting to the internet on your pc. Once it is active Apple TV (2nd Gen) will connect no problem. But if you are using mobile broadband through a network sharing hub or possibly connecting to a network in a commercial building it is most likely that after you connect you will be able to view trailers listen to internet radio and podcasts but not be able to login to any premium services that require your apple ID. This is a whole other problem with your ISP - Which I am still dealing with see the link below for more details....
