I haven't tested this so I'm not sure it's possible but the servers are as follows:

Protocol: TCP or HTTP
Servers:
scs.msg.yahoo.com
scsa.msg.yahoo.com
scsb.msg.yahoo.com
scsc.msg.yahoo.com
Port: 20,23,25,80,119,5050,8001,8002

Hope this helps,
-Ryan

Edit: The more I think about it, the more I think it's not possible unless you're using Jabber since you can only enter in an AIM or .Mac address in the preferences.

Hi,

You need the first two links on this page to be able to use Yahoo! accounts (text to them) with iChat http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/page5.html

Then as Ryan says this is really a Jabber account with links to the other servers that you install Transports for.
(you have to change to a Jabber name but can chat to your Yahoo! buddies if you find a good transport)

Hi Advanced User,

You need to set up a Jabber account to use in iChat.

Then you need to activate a Gateway/Transport to the required IM service(s)

Both these things require that you do this in another Jabber application.

Once you have a Jabber account with the required Gateways active then you can put that name into the Jabber account setting on your Mac

These are the two main information pages on how iChat can connect to the other IM services.

Ok... I'll do it, thanks... but I have another question! I also have a gmail account and I was able to setup iChat without a jabber account and a transport gateway... I simply inserted the messenger server address and my user & pwd. For this reason I was wondering if I can do the same with my yahoo account but I don't think so because all yahoo's server don't work... Comments? Thanks for your time

Hi,

So far those of us the have tested GoogleTalk have found that it does not even connect to other Jabber servers properly.

I have three Jabber account including GoogleTalk. I can only connect to other GoogleTalk people when they are on on Google talk as well.

It seems thsi version of Jabber server has a way to go.

It has been a while since I looked but I seem to have not seen any Transports or Gateways advertised by them.
