Q: PowerBook 5033 ce WiFi question

In the "you get what you pay for" category, a free 5300 ce from a yard sale turns on, looks good, but cannot seem to recognize a 16 bit gold Wavelan Lucent card in the PCMCIA slot. The card does not even light up. I have the drivers, but when I try to install them I get

"The application "Installer" could not be opened because "OTATalkConfigLib" could not be found."

Browsing for OTATalkConfigLib has brought me nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Jeffrey, and welcome to the Apple Discussions.

It sounds like there are two possible issues to deal with. Are you sure the Lucent card and PCIMCIA slot are good? Do you have another card to use to test the slot?

You might also try cross-posting to the older software category just above this one...or the Mac OS 9 forum where some very good old OS people hang out. That may help with the second issue, driver installation.
