MacBook Pro Battery Condition: "Check Battery"

Recently I had my screen replaced as a scratch appeared and damaged my screen. I have had the computer for 2 days now and have noticed that my battery life is significantly lower. I checked the stats in system profiler and this is what appears:

Battery Information:

Device name: ASMB012
Pack Lot Code: 0002
PCB Lot Code: 0000

Cell Revision: 0200

Full charge capacity (mAh): 1227
Health Information:
Cycle count: 274

My battery does not hold a charge for very long and I'm not sure what to do about this. Any advice?

I don't have any experience with the new batteries, because I haven't needed to replace mine. But neither have I seen anyone post here about any experience they've had with a third-party battery for any unibody MBP. Until I start seeing positive reports or reviews of third-party batteries, I'll recommend sticking with Apple's offerings.

Definitely. If I am going to replace the battery I think I'll stick with the Apple product as well. I think I'm going to have to wait for Christmas season so I can accumulate the cash. lol. Thank you very much for your guidance and advice!

Also, if I do purchase a new battery, am I supposed to calibrate it every so often? I didn't calibrate my battery for this computer because I had never heard of doing that. Thank you!
