iPhone keychain?

greetings,

am a long time mac user and just got an iPhone for the 1st time. i know where everything is in OSX, but not the iPhoneOS. obviously, there are a lot of similarities. i'm finding a fair number of things by poking around, looking for things that are present in OSX.

i downloaded and searched thru the iPhone OS4 manual and searched for "keychain". didn't find any mention of keychain. i search this forum and found some questions about keychains, but didn't see anything that really answered the questions or said where a keychain program might be.

1- does iPhone have a keychain program?
2- if so, can all the apps use the keychain or would it only be apple apps?
3- can the iPhone keychain be synced with the OSX keychain & how?
4- i'm considering 1Password for iPhone, particularly if the iPhone doesn't have a keychain. any feedback on this?

thanks for any advise-
jeffery

The iOS doesn't have a Keychain app. The passwords are stored in each of the associated apps instead of in the main OS itself. As for websites, Safari saves caches and cookies.
