Enginerd1, thanks for the solution. People on https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2753249?start=0&tstart=0<this topic have not yet found the solution. If you could repost the solution, that would save people a lot of time.
Enginerd1, That did wrk fr me...thanks ...quite a bit of process but its fine than having everything looking ghostly
Enginerd. It fixed my white icons but lost my data and stats in apps like sodoku, wine notes, etc. How do I get them back?
After the last step above I did a Restore from Backup (by control-clicking on your iPod's name under devices and selecting the Restore from Backup option). I made sure I did a backup before I went through all the steps and it seems that all the game data has been restored.
Enginerd1: Thank you SO much for the solution! It worked like a charm! Seriously, I am so relieved... I can't find the words to thank you.
To all who read this forum in the future: I'd like to add k@mosaik's advice to the directions Enginerd1 gave us. Namely, make SURE you back up your iPod's data before following Enginerd1's directions.
It is a very quick process. Simply connect your device to your computer and open iTunes. Right-click on your device name, and select "Back Up". iTunes will back up all of your existing iPod information, game scores, app details/notes, etc. This takes less than one minute for iTunes to complete.
Then, follow Enginerd1's directions above. When you are completely finished with these instructions, right-click on your device name and select "Restore from Backup...". This will also take less than a minute. Once you have finished, all of your app data will be back. I've tested it with multiple applications and not only are the icons back to their normal state, but all of my data has been returned as well.
A HUGE Thank You is in order for both Enginerd1 and k@mosaik. THANK YOU both so very much... you've saved our skins! 😀
Did your POWER button cave in? Because if it did you will have to pull it out somehow because thats what is causing 'white' apps
Settings>General>Accessibility and then turn off 'white on black'
I had the same problem. Followed Engineerd instructions exactly. All was great. I had my icons back, it was beautiful. 33 apps I had to uninstall and reinstall.
Then the storm hit. I restored from the backup I made just before doing this so that I'd have all my data back... and whammoooo, icons are white again. UGH!!!!!!
Hi Enginerd 1, your solution didn't work for me.
I did exactly as u said, but when i pressed the revert button in your 6 th step, WHAM! app icons were same ugly white!
Someone Help me!!!
To Enginerd 1
I tried for the 4th time and it worked!!!!!
