I am trying to upgrade my ATV firmware from 7.3.2 to 7.4.2 and it requires a password. I have no idea what password is required or what it is as I never had to use a password to set up the ATV. Any ideas how to find out what password is required?

would agree with Chenks in which case you might want to try the admin password for your machine.

nah it won't be that.
you set an admin password on the airport itself.

i wouldn't be too sure. i haven't updated airport firmware in some time but IIRC it is similar to when you install software on your Mac - you're being asked for your admin password.

not an admin password, but a base station password (which allows the user to access and admin the BS).
in any event, the OP may find clues as to the password in keychain access ...
