Passcode grace lock and autolock

Hi,

I am not too sure if this is bug or not, basically I was using iphone configuration utility to generate a mobile profile. As the passcode payload, I set the autolock to 4 minutes and the passcode grace lock to 5 minutes.

After installing the profile into my iPhone, the grace lock period on the device is still set to immediately and the autolock to 1 minute.

Basically I was using iPhone Configuration Utility for Windows.
I use iPhone 4 with OS 4.1

Why are you trying to do this with the Configuration Utility instead of the phone's settings?

Settings > General > Auto-Lock > 4 minutes
Settings > General > Passcode-Lock > Require Passcode > After 5 minutes.

The only reason to use the Config Utility is to configure a large number of iPhones the same way. Since you said nothing about how you tried to create this profile with Config Utility, there's no way to know if this is a bug or user error.

I understand that we can do it in the phone settings. Sorry I forgot to mention that I would like to do same configuration for many iPhone or iPad (the main purpose here is to perform large business deployment).

In order to install the configuration, we need the mobile.config which is generated with iPhone configuration utility. It basically contains the information which would connect to Microsoft exchange ActiveSync.

In the mobile.config xml of passcode policy, I have:
<maxGracePeriod>5</maxGracePeriod> and <maxInactivity>4</maxInactivity>

To ensure that this is working, I used the iPhone Configuration Utility which enforce the user to require password (passcode) etc which has similar output xml with what I constructed earlier.

The main issue is that it does not seem to enforce the device to select autolock and passcode grace lock when the profile is installed.
