Subtitle does not work in ATV2 home share

Hi everyone, I've been fighting with the subtitle problem with ATV2 and iTunes home share for the last 4 days and spent over 20 hours try to resolve this.

All subtitled files works perfectly on QT Player, iTunes, both on PC/OSX

Some background info to help
-srt file, both uncleaned and cleaned by SubCleaner
-subtitle will show up when pause/play or starting from 0 sec
-if no subtitle to load for ~5 sec, subtitle grey bar disappears and subtitle does not load
-however, if you pause and play again, it will load that portion, only to disappear and not load again.
-tried sharing both from windows/osx
-ATV setting tried, subtitle default English or none, CC option on/off, audio default english or none

version created, none worked properly on ATV2
-m4v/mp4, handbrake, external srt, full processing mode
-m4v/mp4, subler
-m4v/mp4/mov, iSubtitle, both simple save and save as self-contained
-m4v/mp4/mov, Submerge, save as self-contained (advertised as hardsub, but does not, seems to add a seperate stream into mov file)

Greatly appreciate if someone can point out a sure fire way to add subtitle for ATV2. Thanks

I'll have to return ATV2 if this doesn't work out...sigh.

Same problem here.

Some more findings:
1) Submerge: subtitle track doesn't show at all (not even at pause/play) and is nog recognised by ATV2 if you hold the okay button while the movie plays. Used to work perfectly on ATV1.
2) iSubtitle with resolution lower than 1280x720: subtitles show but they are very small on ATV2. Used to work perfectly on ATV1.

I can only confirm that I have the same problem. I have also a first generation Apple TV with a considerable libraries of videos with subtitle streams that work fine. With the 2G Apple TV, then subtitles show as present (holding down the Select button while the video plays) but stop displaying after a few moments. Rapidly pressing Select twice usually gets them to start displaying again but then they stop after a few more moments.

It's pretty clearly a bug in the subtitle support, as the Apple TV definitely knows the stream is there but just isn't displaying it.
