Preview lags and jumps

I recently purchased a new MacBoo Pro and am now having problems with iM6.
The playback does not keep up with the time line.
It will sometimes skip a whole clip (in my case a photo) when I am trying to time the clips to a song.
Playback on my early 2006 iMac and my previous MacBook work fine.
I have tried this on 3 different new Macs and all do the same thing.
Anyone else had this problem?
And anyone have a solution?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Reverting from Quicktime 7.6.6 back to Quicktime 7.6.4 worked for me. But then I run Leopard and not Snow Leopard as you do.

There have been several posts about this problem. Try using the search function of this forum.

The above is a tutorial I made to show how to use iMovie HD with Snow Leopard to alleviate this problem. It is only one way, and I found it to be easy, but I had to always remember that, after I put the photos in the timeline, to turn on Ken Burns (would that we were all so easily turned on) for all the photos, render them in the timeline itself. After that, for me, the problem was solved. Only took a minute.
