Why iTunes 10 crashes when accessing the iTunes Store?

iTunes 10 is local working well after starting. I can play all my music, videos , etc. When I like to access the iTunes store iTunes crashes without any warning.

What can I do, to fix the probleme?

Thanks in advance.

Same here.. I can access my account page and my previous purchase page, all local itunes function perfectly - I have installed 10.1.1 - which I figured was the fix - I have cleaned-up fonts, tried opening itunes store from another profile, I have repaired permissions, run disk warrior, treid renaming itunes as suggested here, you name it...

Could there be a problem with the itunes store at their server level?

And if so, it would be fabulous to be advised of such so that we can all stop chasing our tail, potentially creating more harm than good to our machines.
In sequence.
Repaired permissions - Crash
Validated fonts and removed duplicates and questionable ".ttf" true type fonts - Crash
Rebooted and my directory was corrupted and had to use disk warrior to rebuild
Removed some plist files - repaired permissions - dwnloaded and installed 10.1.1 - Crash
Tried renaming as ITUNES 10.1.1 - Crash
Tried from guest profile - Crash
Tried coming at it from Ping, etc.. CRASH

I'm done - unless one of you big brains out there find a fix.

I have the same problem recently.

I emailed them, and a tech/support person emailed me back and told me it was a potential third party app causing it.

She said if you have any: web accelerators, firewall, or other stuff running it would cause it, but I tried to disable and unistall programs and still the same problem.

Also I tried to uninstall and start fresh and same deal.

I keep getting a bad kernel error when it crashes, check out here:

Exception Type: EXC BADACCESS (SIGBUS)
Exception Codes: KERN PROTECTIONFAILURE at 0x0000000000000096
Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread

And I have no idea how to fix? Can anyone help?

As others have said, reinstalling doesn't work, repairing permissions doesn't work, loading a new iTunes library doesn't work, running iTunes on a different user account doesn't work.

I am not sure what else I can do. I have contacted iTunes support and have included a link to this thread, I will let you know if they are able to offer any help.

Ive sorted the problem after a long and annoying look into itunes. non of the solutions on forums helped. but this is what worked for me, turn of home sharing and itunes doesnt crash anymore. looks like a bug on there part yet again. Going to use rest off my money on my itunes account then go back to creative zen and amazon to download music

I am running iTunes 10.1.2 on Mac OS 10.6.6

All my home sharing is turned off as is Genius (which was causing crashes on startup). I don't share my library. In fact I'm pretty sure I've turned off as much as I can.

If I access the iTunes store, iTunes crashes.
If I run Genius, iTunes crashes
Sometimes if I plug in my iPhone, iTunes crashes (I think it's going out to the network to find updates)

If I download a podcast or subscribe to a new podcast iTunes works OK.
If I turn off my network iTunes runs fine.

It seems that whenever iTunes talks to Apple's servers it crashes.

Here's what was posted to /var/log/system.log when iTunes crashed trying to access the iTunes store:

Hopefully someone from Apple reads this forum and can let me know of a fix.
