Today, my IPOD Touch stopped all sounds. When I put headphones on I can listen to music, but if I take them out I get no volume. All sounds are gone. Even the sounds for mail coming in or mail sent, alarms, sounds on apps, nothing. I tried to turn the volume up, because I thought maybe it was too low or something, but when I push the volume up on the side, I don't even get a volume bar.
I'm having the exact same problem. I've tried resetting and restoring from iTunes and neither worked. Your pdf won't open for me, could you possibly copy the content here?
Go to Music >> Now Playing, and check the visual volume. Try changing it up and down.
Go to Settings >> Sounds, and check the volume bar is up, and controllable through buttons. Also make sure they are all on.
Go to Settings >> Music, and check to make sure there is no volume limit set. If it still only plays music through the headphones, then there may be a problem with the speaker itself.
The "Music" bar is the volume for all of your media (YouTube, Music, Videos, etc.). The "Sounds" bar is the volume that controls all of your alerts (Calender, Alerts, Alarms, typing, etc.). If you switch on the "Control Through Buttons", you'll be able to set both to the same volume.
