I was told by an Apple rep that my MM root folder found in Library-iWeb-Applications Support.
Drop the Google HTML verification code in the App Support folder (aka the root folder) and Waa laa!
It actually worked and my iweb url is verified as owned by me, via Google.
Next up: sitemaps--oh mama!
Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb is the default location for the Domain.sites2 file that contains your website data. There is no way that Google, or anybody else but yourself, can access an HTML file placed in that location.
If you are publishing to MobileMe, the root folder is iDisk/Web/Sites as Old Toad has pointed out.

Once you have created an xml sitemap, it should be uploaded to the same location and can be verified by entering the following URL into the browser.....
