Oct 15, 2010 9:17 AM in response to chlowdenby John F. Whitehead,It should either be the Title or, if the Write XML response has "Use ID for filename" selected, the asset (or production) ID.
What do you mean by an "obscure" field? -
Oct 16, 2010 8:18 AM in response to John F. Whiteheadby chlowden,I assumed it would be the title field which is the same as the file import name. But it is not. I created a personal field called "first name" and it takes that. I think it was the first field I filled in before I imported the file. What is strange is that the xml fcsvr file does not use either title field or first name as the first field in the XML. It uses another field. -
Oct 17, 2010 7:40 PM in response to chlowdenby John F. Whitehead,Did you change the priorities of your metadata groups for that set?
That might explain it, but in any case, it sounds like an unintended issue you should report. -
Oct 21, 2010 3:14 AM in response to John F. Whiteheadby chlowden,Many thanks for the reply. I had a look at the metadata groups. The group that the xml export takes the info from a custom field in a custom group. If I change the Asset title field, it makes no difference, but if I change the custom field, the xml title changes. I think that before importing, the field in question is the first field I fill in, so maybe when the metadata list is created, the XML takes the first field that is created.
Secondly, where does one 'report' this sort of thing? I have no friends at Apple. -
Oct 21, 2010 8:13 AM in response to chlowdenby John F. Whitehead,Everyone at Apple is a friend!
You can report it using the "Provide Feedback" link under the help menu.
Or if you have a developer account, use http://bugreporter.apple.com/
Give explicit steps so they can reproduce the problem. You most likely will not get a reply but trust it will be read and can help.
