iPad not charging when plugged in

I have my iPad docked and it is plugged into the charger that came with the iPad. The icon on the iPad says that it is charging but it is still loosing battery charge. It is not even maintaining the charge it has. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro 17" etc. iPhone G3 (s), iPod etc., Mac OS X (10.6.4), Safari (latest)

Unfortunately, it could be anything from a bad adapter to bad cable to bad iPad hardware. Do a full reset (hold home and on/off buttons until the white Apple logo appears). That might fix a software issue. Try the adapter/cable on an iPod or iPhone (if you have either), just to see if there is an issue.

If none of that works, then bring it to an Apple Store. They'll either give you a new AC adapter, or whatever fix you need. Just back up your iPad before you go.
