Do a full reset (hold home and on/off buttons until the white Apple logo appears). That might fix a software issue. Try the adapter/cable on an iPod or iPhone (if you have either), just to see if there is an issue.
If none of that works, then bring it to an Apple Store. They'll either give you a new AC adapter, or whatever fix you need. Just back up your iPad before you go.MacBook Pro i7, 17". iPhone 4 (32GB). iPad 3G (64GB). Magic Trackpad., Mac OS X (10.6.4), No Windows here

Perhaps you can use the usb-connection cable of your iPhone on your iPad-charger?
If both do not work, go to an Applestore.Windows and Mac, Windows 7, iPhone 3Gs 32Gb, iPad 64Gb Wifi + 3G
