iTunes and Airport Express Problem - unknown error -15000
I have two AE's and this has just started happening to both of them. I have re-booted and re-installed iTunes. I have switched off my router and back on again and I have done the same with the AE's. They both were working perfectly. Itunes can see the AE's, as can the Airport Utility, but I get this error message. Any help would be much appreciated.
OK - so I have solved my own problem, I found the answer on another thread. I have deinstalled the latest version of iTunes and gone back to 10.0. Clearly the glitch is with the latest iTunes.
I have the same problem. This is ridiculous. AirPort Utility is telling me all systems are green, Itunes is showing me the remote speakers, when I play a song, I do hear a "tick" in my remote speakers. And then boom, unknown error -15000...
Here is some help to Apple support staff... I am finding that my other computer running Itunes 9 does not have a problem streaming to my 2 remote speakers.
Hi folks. This one has been bugging me since I upgraded to Itunes 10. But I started playing around in my firewall settings. I finally was able to allow UDP Port 6002 in my firewall and then scared myself to death when all my Airport Expresses in the house started blasting music. I'm using Windows Vista. In the Control Panel, I selected Security - Allow a program through Windows Firewall. In the Firewall Settings, I selected the Exceptions tab. I clicked "Add Port..." and added the following: Name: Itunes-AirportExpress (just so I could easily find the entry again if I needed to) Port Number: 6002 Protocol: UDP. Can't say this will work for you, but you might give it a try. I hope it helps!
the slxn to change firewall settings in vista worked for me. That after updating itunes and airport software I could not get itunes to connect to aiport. Thanks
Can you give me instructions for applying this fix in Windows 7? I don't see an option for selecting UDP Port 6002. I can change ports, e.g., from UDP to TCP but no numbers.
While not recomended, I disabled my windows firewall and the error 15000 went away and itunes connected to my airport express again. This error started to appear after the latest update to itunes.
This fix worked for me. But my question is, why do I have to specifically open this port if there is a firewall exception for both iTunes and airport? Each exception allows all ports and protocols.
