Adding DDR3 1067 MHZ ram to a new cumputer with 1333 MHZ

Hi,

I just bought my mom a new iMac today that has 2x 2 gig 1333 MHZ cards. I want to also add my 2 old 1067 MHZ cards from my old iMac. This would total 8 gigs for those counting. Good idea? Will it cause the 1333 MHZ to run at 1067 MHZ? Is this worth doing to get the 4 extra gigs of memory?

No.

Will it cause the 1333 MHZ to run at 1067 MHZ?

No. The computer will ignore the presence of the slower RAM or fail to start up.

So you can add/mix faster memory to a computer that can't handle it but not slower? crazy machines....

Faster RAM is usually capable of operating at the slower speeds, and does so in a computer with a slower bus.
