How to Block Incoming Text Messages

My wife is getting text messages from someone she doesn't know (they're offensive, too). Is there some way to block them? They seem to be coming from the same phone number. She has an iPhone 4, if that matters.

Not that I am aware.

You could call your wireless provider to see if they can block the number.

I hope someone will turn up with a way to do this. I have a person who simply will not stop sending "too many" text messages, and I don't want to have to pay for them.
There really needs to be a way to avoid paying for something you have no control over.

If the messages are obscene you could report them to the police and your carrier.

There is no way to do this on the phone. You have to contact your carrier.

I recently went through this, getting unwanted text messages is a real problem. The solution I found was to add a service AT&T provides for about $5.00 per month. The service is called "Smart Limits" and it lets you block a persons phone number, which in turn also blocks them from sending text messages. Good Luck.
