No sound in Safari

Hey!
Trying to see a video in a newspaper's page, i found out yesterday that no sound is coming out through the speakers when i'm in Safari. After some trials around the web, same result in all of them (no sound in myspace, youtube, grooveshark, soundcloud, etc)
Is not an computer's output issue, since all other apps (iTunes, VLC, GarageBand...) plays sound without problems.
Any suggestions on where can the problem be?
Thanks,
Julio.

Mærkeligt!

What they have in common is Flash. Try uninstalling then re-installing Flash Player:

The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash

(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

Repairing permissions is important, and should always be carried out both before and after any software installation or update.

Go to Disk Utility (this is in your Utilities Folder in your Application folder) and click on the icon of your hard disk (not the one with all the numbers).

In First Aid, click on Repair Permissions.

This only takes a minute or two in Tiger, but much longer in Leopard.

and here:

An article on troubleshooting Permissions can be found here:

By the way, you can ignore any messages about SUID or ACL file permissions, as explained here:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US

If you were having any serious problems with your Mac you might as well complete the exercise by repairing your hard disk as well. You cannot do this from the same start-up disk. Reboot from your install disk (holding down the C key). Once it opens, select your language, and then go to Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Select your hard disk as before and click Repair.

Once that is complete reboot again from your usual start-up disk.

always? Or -for what i understood by the background info you've posted- only when the installation/update is performed through package files?

Anyway, i don't remember if i ever did a Repair Permissions before...
So, repair is done now.
And since all of the messages in the log looked very similar to the ones you suggested to ignore, i decided to ignore them all 😉

Thanks again for the help.
You've earned the fadøl with this second post!
mvh,
Julio.
