main.cf

Hi there,

I have did the replace the main.cf with the main.cf.default setting. But in the /etc/postfix, there are main.cf.save, .save.1, .save.2, .save.3, .save.4, .save.5. How do i get rid of this setting because the serveradmin will always point back to last setting. I need the serveradmin to use the newly fresh main.cf that i just edit to. Thanks if anyone can give some direction.

Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Server Admin and postfix will only use main.cf.

Any other similarly-named file is irrelevant. They might be backups of the configuration (either made by you or some other process) but they will have no effect on the server's operation

after you copy /etc/postfix/main.cf.default to /etc/postfix/main.cf
cp /etc/postfix/main.cf.default /etc/postfix/main.cf

you can safely copy your backups to another location.
open wgm make your local adjustments. serveradmin start mail.
