Apple Gift Card to use for iPad problems

Was trying to use a valid $25 Apple Gift Card (verified by Apple), but promo code box on Apple Store checkout will not accept the 16 number code (stops at 12, I think).
Gift card phone support was CSR heck, and kept getting transferred to non-empowered support staff.
Gave up after a futile half hour with 4 different overseas Apple CSRs.
I didn't see an option for gift card entry, only promo code.

Anyone want a useless card? LOL

If you went on to the payment screen on the Apple store web site you would see a tab for entering your Gift Card information. It accepts the 16-digit number.

Where is that tab? I looked carefully all over the checkout page where the very prominent "enter promo code" field was.
All the Apple Gift Card CSRs I spoke with indicated that this was the correct place to enter it.

It's on the Payment page which is after the promo code page.

Look for this:

Click on *Apple Gift Card* and you can enter your number.

Ahhh... I think there was confusion because I have a card on file, and was asked to enter the security code on the page with the enter promo code field. Logic says that going to the next page after doing this would have only been to confirm my order.

The Apple gift cards are still a PITA - I had issues with the last one I received (the number wasn't registering and that took a specialist to resolve).

Another thing - why they can't be good for both iTunes store and the Apple store does no favors for the Apple customer.

Got a new iPad on the way. I really will probably never the use card after all this.
