Insufficient privileges to complete iTunes installation for all users on PC

I know this has been discussed before, but I'm trying to understand why Windows 7 is saying I have insufficient priviledges to complete the installation of iTunes, when in fact it allowed the installation of Quicktime, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour, and other Apple software. It installs everything associated with iTunes, except iTunes, which makes absolutely no sense to me as I am logged in as administrator. So, while I may be scolded for asking this question again, is there a logical explanation for this?

And yes, I have uninstalled all the above as described in the FAQs and tried reinstalling to no avail. Can anyone help? Thank you.

The exact wording I get is:

You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this
installation for all users of the machine. Log on as an
administrator and then retry this installation.

Funny thing is, when I turn on my machine it automatically boots up under my name which is shown as administrator. When I look in Windows there are 2 users shown: myself, as administrator, and guest, which is off. Yesterday, I noticed I also had an account which was ASP.net if I'm not mistaken. However, it's not showing up in control panel under user accounts today - if it's there.

Good gracious. That's a new one on me.

It seems most likely that a permission on a file, folder or registry entry has been lost by an account (even though they're still admin accounts). When that happens, we can sometimes get past it by explicitly granting the install admin rights.

Download and save a fresh copy of the installer. (Don't run the install on line.) Now right-click the installer and select "Run as administrator".

Any better luck with that install?
