CDs wont burn!

I am having problems burning CDs. After this new update now i get and error message saying "the attempt to burn disc failed. The device failed to respond properly, unable to recover or re-try". I have had my mac for almost 4 years and have never had problems burning CDs until the new iTunes and new Mac update. Please help!
