Question

Iphone won't sync with Itunes

Have downloaded the new itunes. I plug my iphone 3Gs 8gb into it to sync & also to update to the new software for iphone. I left it plugged in overnight & it didnt even get any way through the backing up of my iphone. I dont understand why it wont back up or sync. Can anyone shed any light on this? Not sure what to do about it all?

Yeah it shows up - It comes up with do you want to update your iphone to 4 something the new update anyway and then it comes up with backing up iphone & it just doesnt move along the bar to show its doing it. I left it all night - like 8 hours and it didnt move!!! Not happy, Its really annoying. I cant leave me phone on there for too long, I need to use it thats why i do it overnight but still takes way too long..

sounds like you need to do a restore of the phone. follow the instructions under restore in this

Hi all,

I'm facing the same problem.

Every time I connected iphone 4 to the USB port, itunes says I have to restore it (with the message iTunes cannot read the contents of the iphone. Go to the summary tab in iphone preferences and click restore to restore this iphone to factory setting.)

It all went well until the syncing part. It displays the syncing window but it takes a long time. Then it says 'The iphone cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found.'.

Help!

This problem has also happened to me, message "iTunes can not read iPhone content, please go to restart..." The problem is when I push restart features from the factory, there is a message saying that I may loose all the recorded data, is it true? is it the only way to solve this problem?

I successfully synced my iPhone 3G to my itunes and then backed up, downloaded new update and began the install of that update to my phone. halfway thru the phone disconnected is now displaying the connect to itunes message. restarted everything. ran diagnostics and everything. nothing will change and itunes will not recognize it. also it says code 10 however i cant find anything on apple.com about error code 10. im needing serious help to remedy this.

Full restore worked a treat. I didnt back up first though coz that would have taken a long time I think. Not sure but anyway it updated the software & all good. Thanks for your replies. Good luck to anyone else. 🙂

It worked for me but I didnt do the back up before restore... Not sure if you are doing that.. Maybe try without backup...
