iPhone is not recognizing my finger "swipe"...HELP
My iPhone seems frozen. I can click the main "round" button on the bottom of the phone so the screen lights up. From there I try to "swipe" my finger accross the bottom to open my phone & nothing! It does not recognize my finger swipe. Please help me!
Try the basic troubleshooting steps described in the [User Guide|http://manuals.info.apple.com/en
US/iPhone_iOS4_UserGuide.pdf] (sett page 242):
Restart phone
Reset phone (no data loss)
Restore phone in iTunes using a backup (no data loss)
Restore phone in iTunes as a new iPhone, without using a backup.
If the last step doesn't help, there is a hardware failure that needs evaluation by Apple.
FYI, that "main round button at the bottom" is called the Home button. The User Guide is your friend.

That happened to me once. Do a hard reset: press both the home button (main round button on the top) and the top button (the lock button). Keep 'em pressed until your phone goes off. Don't worry if the screen gets a little strange when you do that 😉
of note: ignore the 'slide to power off' message (since you can't slide) and keep your fingers down, it takes around 10~15seconds for the hard reset.
