No search bar in App Store on iPhone

Hi all,

Apologies for any lack of detail given here but I'm logging this on behalf of my friend who has just purchased her first iPhone, a 16gb iPhone 4.

She's very keen to start purchasing apps, however when browsing the app store she is there is no facilty to search, this is normally found at the bottom of the screen as follows;

Featured - Categories - Top 25 - Search - Updates

This entire bar is now viewable on her App store application, I've seen this and verified it personally, I believe her app just defaults to 'Featured'.

As far as she has made me aware, she has updated to OS 4.1, can anyone think of how we can get around this? She was definitely signed into her iTunes account via the app store when browsing.

Kind Regards,

Matt.

Do you mean the entire bar is not viewable...? What does "I believe her app just defaults to 'Featured'" mean? Can you not tap on the other buttons such as Top 25, Updates, Categories, etc.?
