FaceTime Beta verification not working

No FaceTime Desktop Application yet so I'm posting here.

I start FaceTime Beta 0.9 and when I get to verify it send me the email. When I click on Verify Now in the email, Safari 5.0.2 throws a error that it can't connect to the id server. Maybe the server is getting slammed or may this is a bug.

Are others experiencing this or are they successfully getting verified?

I had a similar problem and here is how I've solved it. When I tried to log in using my MobileMe USERNAME@me.com address, it would never stop "verifying...". However, after I sign in using USERNAME@mac.com everything seemed to be OK, and no verification step was necessary. So now it works, and I can call from my iPhone 4 to MAC.COM, but not ME.COM address. This is obviously a glitch in the beta.

Hi Guys,

I have been trying throughout the day to verify my email address via the link Apple sent... clicked it over and over, & refreshed over & over in Safari (5.0.2)... but always received an "Internal Server Error".

So I copied & pasted the link into Firefox (3.5.9) and it worked first time.

I couldn't log into the Apple forums to post this reply using Safari either - but FF was fine. Safari bug perhaps? It's working now though.
