Docking Station Keyboard not Working properly

Hi, I have a 32gb wifi iPad and a couple of weeks ago I got the docking station keyboard for it and quite enjoyed it. Now however, the keyboard intermittently works. When I put my iPad on it nothing. The only thing that "solves" the problem is if I turn my iPad off and turn it back on docked in the keyboard. This works most of the time, but not always. There is never any problem when I connect via USB to my computer to use iTunes. Any ideas? suggestions?

Since the iPad connects to the computer correctly via the cable, sounds like there could be a problem with the docking station connector. Try cleaning the contacts with denatured alcohol and a cotton swab, aka a Q-tip, and see if that helps. Could be some dust, corrosion, something on the contacts interfering with the contacts.

I'll give it a try. Seems kind of weird seeing as how the keyboard is 2 weeks old and always works when I turn it of then restart, but hey I'll try just about anything.

It is strange behavior, but start.with the easy things first and see if simple cleaning helps.

Then progress to the harder areas.

Hi All!
I dont normally comment on these forums, but after 2 weeks of trail and error (with great frustration as some of the docks have never worked) with different ipads and keyboard docks in the office, with have found a solution to make the ipad and keyboard dock work. There is a design fault with the keyboard dock. It allows the ipad to sit to far back braeking the electrical connection at the bottom.

We simply inserted a plastic 12 inch ruler between the dock and the back of the ipad to make the ipad stand upright more. Hey presto! Keyboard dock works on all three Ipads. Now just have to find something a little more permanent and sexy looking than the ruler!

Its worked for all of us, hope it works for you too!
