Move patches from Mainstage to Logic

Hi

I have a somewhat unusual problem, I guess. I have been using MainStage for a couple of years for live performances. Since I am contemplating to record something in Logic, I would like to use my instrument patches, amp mods and maybe channelstrips from MainStage WITHOUT being forced to remodel it all in Logic.

Is there a way to either use MainStage as an input in an audio track in Logic or is there a way to import my MainStage settings in Logic?

I hope you can help!!

HI Doug

Thanks for your advice, and you are right, my MS is 1.02.

I actually tried that, and Logic recognizes the .cst-file as a logic file, but when I try to open it, Logic just says that "Logic can't open file". And I can't seem to find an appropriate button to import the cst-file. 😟

Any reactions to that? Besides upgrading to logic 9 :-/

I never used MS 1.x, so I'm not familiar with it other than topically. It's also been a while since I used L8. Neither are on my current tower to play with.....

I don't remember if the channel strip compatibility was available in MS 1 or not. But how are you bringing in the new channel strip? You should have Logic 8 open and bringing it in via the channel strip settings menu. You will have to put them in the right folder for Logic to see them.

User>Library>Application Support>Logic>Channel Strip Settings>Instrument

Last possibility is saving each instrument/effect as a patch and load them in one at a time.

Also, if/when money is available, both Logic and MainStage have improve in the newer versions. My guess is you would really appreciate the upgrade.
