aperture library not showing in mail, iweb or iphoto
After upgrading to 3.1 my Aperture Library is not coming up in other applications. It also is not showing up as an option for screen saver. Anyone have this issue?
15" MacBook Pro 2.33 (late 2006),
Mac OS X (10.6.4)
I have tried a reinstall of ProKit, Aperture 3.1 update, and iLife 11. I removed the iLife Media Browser plugins from HardDrive/Library/Application Support/iLifeMediaBrowser/Plugin folder prior to installation. Still no luck.
Well, I fixed my problem now. I deleted the file "ApertureDatabaseTimestamp" in the folder "iLifeShared" and tried it again - and don't ask me why, but it worked perfectly (without even creating a new file with the same name)...
I had the same exact problem and ScreenSaver app crashed with bad memory access trying to access new Aperture 3.1 library (even touch gestures began working bad after first memory leak)!
After a reboot, I tried your suggestion and I can confirm that all was showing back in the right way.
Even for me a new file was not created in iLifeShared folder.
I could not figure out what had happened until I read your post.
Thanks a lot!
Same problem here (while it works in iTunes to sync with the Apple TV) but I cant find any ApertureDatabaseTimestamp file nor iLifeShared folder... where are they located ?
Ulysse, did you try deleting the ApertureData.xml file as well as the iLifeShared folder? The make s change, like a rating, to force generate the XML info again. These are all sharing files but they all need to be in sync.
Thanks for your help Clem... Anyway, even after deleted the folder and the XML file, if I launch Aperture and then iWeb, it cant see the AP library in iWeb (only a spinning wheel next to "Aperture").
If I delete the folder and the XML file (or only the file in the iLifeShared) without launching Aperture, then everything is ok.
