No sound in game apps

I actually encountered the same issue. Sometimes I switch my phone to silent when I'm in the office. But when I'm out, I switch off silent mode and proceed to play my game. But there were no sound. On occasions, there are SFX but they only play once.

I was wondering if there's anyway to fix it. There is no sound even if I maxed out the volume and switch off silent mode.

Check the mute switch
Check the sound settings for the iPhone under Settings > Sounds
Check the sound settings in the games themselves

Also check that the way you're holding the phone isn't muffling the speaker. I've caught myself doing that with Angry Birds!

Make sure your Silent mode is not enabled.
Check your Volume Level
Check your game's options menu for sound.
Go to Settings > Sounds

Thanks for the response but yes, I did check. The mute switch was off (silent mode off). Both the phone and game's sound settings were maxed. The sound does play but only once. And no, I wasn't muffling the speakers either. When people call or text me, it plays the ring tones fine. It's just the game that doesn't seem to be working.

The only way for me to revert back to its normal state is if I switch off and on the phone. But I don't want this to be a permanent solution because I didn't pay money for a phone that requires me to reset if it goes haywire on me.

This issue happened twice and apparently some iPhone 4 users are encountering it. The sound is off and on randomly or that only part of the sound is being played.
