Mainstage Audio Output Problem

Hi,

I have a reoccurring issue in Mainstage. Occasionally the output goes grainy and sounds like it has a really bad echo on the track. The CPU is not overloaded and the 'Panic' button does nothing. Restarting mainstage does work but is not ideal mid set so I am looking to prevent it.

I have recorded audio of the problem when I play a scale so I can send it or post it somewhere if that will help.

I am running a backing track and guitar through mainstage and everything else on my computer is off!

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have a few gigs lined up.

try increasing your audio "buffer" setting and see if anything changes. what audio interface are you using? what was your audio buffer setting set at when the problem occured? which version of ms are you using? running in default (32 bit) mode?

I'm using an Apogie Gio as the interface into Mainstage 2.1.1 in 32 bit mode.
The buffer is currently set to 128 and was at this level when the problem occurred.

Your info says you are running 10.5.8... if that is true, you could try upgrading to 10.6.4, which is what most people here are running. When the sound goes grainy, if you try to play something at the same time out of iTunes, is iTunes grainy sounding as well or does iTunes audio sound fine?

Is your input and output both set to the Gio? Or do you have your output set to a different device than the input?
