Doest the earphone with remote support for 4th itouch?

Hello.

I just bought a 4th Ipod. It has a normal earphone set other than 3rd gen has an earphone with remete and mic. Anyway I would like to buy the remote one(MB770 B/A). Does anyone use it for 4th Ipod? Does it work without problem?

Apple says this one works for the 4G.

There really is no number give. However, the number given in the URL (MB770G/B) is a little different than the one you mentioned.

Per Google the G/A is the original one and the G/B is the current one. This site says the G/A will work with the 4G.

The remote and mic are supported only by iPod nano (4th and 5th generation), iPod classic (120GB/160GB), iPod Touch (2nd, 3rd and 4th Gen), iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPad. The remote is supported by iPod shuffle (3rd generation). Audio is supported by all iPod models.

Hey, I just found out that MB 770G/A and /B do not support Itouch 4g excet for audio signal. This information comes from apple store.

I am confused about why you are confused. The statement you quote clearly says the for the 4G touch the mic, remote and earphones are supported. The mic and emote are not supported on some other models/devices but the earphones (audio) are supported on all iPods.

The description says 2G and later ipod touch not 4th. I tried to buy the earphon on ebay but all sellers I contact says "It will not work. Only for 2G and 3G".
