Every time I try to check for available downloads, I'm told 'could not complete your request, error -9813.' I've found the meaning of many other error codes, but not this one. Anyone know?
I also have this problem! I cannot access my account info or purchase anything off the itunes store. My internet connection is perfectly fine. My friends are able to access their accounts on this internet, but not me. What the heck do I do? I tried rebooting but that did nothing.
Me, too. Can't access iTunes via my iPhone or my MacBook Pro (10.5.4). I hope Apple monitors these boards and fixes this soon!! I called tech support and they didn't know anything about this.
I've had this problem for the last 6 hours. For a while I thought I was the only one with the problem but now I see others experiencing it. I've experienced this over the years. Usually Apple has it fixed within 24 hours...hopefully it's the same this time!
Thanks for pointing this out. My mini and MacBook are on 10.5.8 and get the Error message. My wife's MacBook Pro on 10.6.4 is having no problems with the iTunes store...
I am having the same problem. I emailed tech support and they told me my time was incorrect. I had obviously tried that already, so that is not the problem. I am glad to see I am not the only one. I hope they fix this soon!!
Me too, OS 10.5.8. Connected up my new iPad and cannot register it. I can connect to the apps store and make purchases via the iPad however. Note to self, checking here first could save an hour of scratching my head (and some of my hair :)) .
Just did a chat with support - didn't help me, but might help others:
The "Error 9813" alert occurs when there is an issue with the root certificate in a Keychain. Root certificates are stored in a system keychain located at : /System/Library/Keychains/X509Anchors These roots are used by Mac OS X system software to evaluate trust for secure web connections, secure e-mail, and other PKI interactions.
There are a few possible resolutions for this issue: 1.Quit iTunes, open Safari, and choose Empty Cache from the Safari Menu. Return to the iTunes Store and test to see if the issue is resolved 2.Use Time Machine or another backup to return to a previous working root certificate (X509Anchors) 3.Copy the root certificate over from another Mac. This solution is proposed in a mail troubleshooting Mail 2.0 Help Unable to verify message signature. Copy the "X509Anchors SystemRootCertificates.keychain", and "SystemCACertificates.keychain" files from another computer running the exact same version of Mac OS X as your computer, restart, and test. 4.Reinstall Mac OS X on your computer.
Note: If you choose to copy over contents of /System/Library/Keychains, be certain that the computer you are copying the file over from is running the same version of Mac OS X. You can compare Mac OS X version numbers by going to the Apple () menu and choosing About This Mac.
I spoke with support and went through every step outlined in the above post, except trying to bring the x509anchors from another computer. Nothing has helped. This includes completely reinstalling Mac OS, and that still did not fix it. Not sure what else I could possibly do? I think this is something on Apple's end, not just system settings.
I have been having this problem for almost 24 hours. Funny thing is, I get one error message on my 'puter (-9813) and one on my iPhone(Cannot connect to the Store. A secure connection could not be established. Please check your Date and Time settings.) I did check the date and time, all fine. I turned off auto, turned it back on, rebooted. Then I checked with my laptop and got the 9813 error. I did the keychain repair thing and rebooted more times than I want to admit. I've not fixed anything. I was comforted by the fact that I discovered this must be out of my hands, so I'm just chirping up so everyone knows there are lots of us in the same boat. Hey, Apple! Hellllllp!
