GarageBand Help is Missing

Just a blank page opens, no way to access contents that I can find. No tutorials or Getting Started either that is evident, even though the opening info dialog indicates one exists.

When I do that, the Help opens but it is a blank page

assuming you don't have outgoing connections blocked by something like Little Snitch, the only thing that comes to mind is to try the oddball problem fix:

first two things to try for “oddball” probs:

(Let the page FULLY load. The link to your answer is at the top of your screen)

After a few moments waiting for the blank help page to fill in, I get this error:

The operation couldn't be completed.
(HVURLHandlerErrorDomain error 1002.)

After seeing this Help error for all the iLife '11 apps, and the misuse of lo-res icons in the Dock, I'm guessing that iLife '11 was rushed out the door with very little thought to quality control. These simple errors would've been caught in 10 seconds if anyone had installed the shipping copy and gave it a spin. This release is not very Apple like.

Thanks Hangtime for your suggestions and very good troubleshooting site.

However, after correctly identifying and applying your tips, none worked. So I did the Apple Tech support call method, they say the issue at the first level and moved me up to Advanced Support Specialists and they also ID'ed and successfully reproduced the issue with no problem, and after numerous routines and reinstalls which I will NOT recount here, as they were all unsuccessful and I don't want you to waste time when you could be practicing.

The Specialist has all the info for his engineers to go to work on Monday, and they will be back to me, and I will quickly post their recommendation for a fix or otherwise immediately.

In the mean time go here for initial Lessons, etc.
