Just a blank page opens, no way to access contents that I can find. No tutorials or Getting Started either that is evident, even though the opening info dialog indicates one exists.

i'm afraid i don't have an actual "this is the answer," but i found it took a bit of prodding to get the help files to D/L. I switched between the Getting Started and Browse options a couple of times, and eventually the files were D/Led.

That is where I have been trying from the menu bar as well as trying from that Welcome, but I have no option under Help for Getting started, just:
    Garageband Help

When I do that, the Help opens but it is a blank page

assuming you don't have outgoing connections blocked by something like Little Snitch, the only thing that comes to mind is to try the oddball problem fix:

first two things to try for “oddball” probs:

Same problem here. Completely blank Help window with all the iLife 11 apps.

After a few moments waiting for the blank help page to fill in, I get this error:

    The operation couldn't be completed.
    (HVURLHandlerErrorDomain error 1002.)

After seeing this Help error for all the iLife '11 apps, and the misuse of lo-res icons in the Dock, I'm guessing that iLife '11 was rushed out the door with very little thought to quality control. These simple errors would've been caught in 10 seconds if anyone had installed the shipping copy and gave it a spin. This release is not very Apple like.

Thanks for posting back with the info you got from Tech Support, I'll get that URL for the online help added to the FAQ later today so that it doesn't get lost, and very much look forward to hearing what solutions they come up with when they get back to you!

Apple must've fixed something on their end. I just tried getting into the help again this morning and it worked. The new help file was downloaded successfully.

Has anyone else had success with getting into Help now?
