Imported Photos Not Going to the Bottom of Events List

Hello everyone,

I have recently bought iPhoto 11 and have been a bit baffled by this problem I have been having. In the old days I would plug in my iPhone and click import. All the new events would go at the bottom of my lists of events and I would edit from there. Now though, any photos I import go not in the place of the first event, but in the place of the second. I can only describe this as weird as if Apple had changed the place new iPhoto events go, I have no doubt it would be in the upper left where the 1st event would go. As I said, mine don't, they simply go the second spot. Again, it used to be that I would import and the event would go to the lower right hand corner. To make sure this wasn't a date problem I put several older photos in the place of the 1st event and imported but no matter what I do, new photos go into the second spot. I even checked preferences but there are no settings there either.

My questions are. How do I have iPhoto import at the bottom of the list of events. Why is this happening. Why do my imported photos go into the second and not the first place.

Thanks,

Oliver

I'm guessing, like myself, everone is probably just living with this annoying bug and dragging all their new events with freshly imported photos all the way to the bottom of their iPhoto each time and dealing with them from there. It's a bit of a time waster. I'd like to see this thread continue until there is a fix or workaround, maybe everyone could reply/re-reply to this thread if this iPhoto bug is still bothering you.

Unless in the unlikely event someone has come up with a fix?

Imported some photos tonight, iPhoto said my library was damaged and asked if I wanted to repair. I said yes. 20 minutes later it was complete, I reimported the photos and they went to the bottom! Problem is it rearanged my 540 events, but I will be happy to fix that if it keeps putting my stuff at the bottom.

Don't know why it's fixed but glad it is. Magic.

Sorry but that is the solution. Just because you personally do not like something that does not make it wrong. And since this is strictly a user to user support forum to help users use iPhoto the way it works, that is the answer. Making changes to iPhoto is far beyond the scope of this forum. Attacking people is not the solution

Sorting events is the ONLY solution that is available as iPhoto currently exists. Suggesting changes to Apple via the supported path (iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback) is appropriate. Other than that it is what it is and your choice is to use it or not

You do not comprehend. IPhoto is what it is and none of the users here can change anything

Frankly manual sorting of events is simply not a good idea. If you want manual sorts use albums and folders not events. Events are not designed or implemented to do what you want and you are just beating your head against a wall trying to do dpsomething that is known not to work.

You will be amazed how good it feels to quit beating your head against the wall and to start using the features that works the way you want to operate - using albums and folders

LN,

Sorry if you feel attacked. If you read the entire thread it states in several places that in iPhoto '09 it always imported pics to the bottom even when sorting manually. Those of us that dislike that Apple changed this are free to complain and comment on the decision.

That's exactly what these forums are for. And I and many other people have reported it to Apple and asked for it to be changed back.

Just getting tired of hearing the "Just sort by date!" fix that isn't a fix.
