Charging with a wrong charger

Just bought an iPad. I've had an iPhone for a while now. My question revolves around the chargers. I'm traveling right now and have kept chargers for each separate. I know the iPad charger is 10v. Is the iPhone the same? Can I use them interchangeably on both devices?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

You can safely use either charger with either device. The iPad charger will charge either device much faster.

You can also use any of the several available USB chargers with the Apple cord and charge your devices. I travel a lot and like to travel light, so I use a single multi-USB charger to handle all my USB charging requirements. I use the I-chargers at home and leave them there so I don't leave them in a hotel somewhere.
