M-AUDIO Fast Track Ultra with Final Cut 7

I have been using an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra device with Final Cut 6 and could listen to Quicktime 5.1 audio files in the timeline in full surround. Since I installed the Studio 3 upgrade with Final Cut 7 (same OSX version), this is not working anymore. I just have stereo output. When I start my backup version of Final Cut 6, it still work fine.

Any clue how to fix this in Final Cut 7 ?

Hi-
Click on the timeline, type command + 0 (zero) to open the sequence settings, and on the Audio Outputs Pane select 5.1 Monitoring from the drop down menu.

Hi,
The 5.1 audio preset was already selected in the setting and each of the 6 audio tracks is assign to the proper speaker. It was the same set-up in the v6 but it was working which is not the case in the v7. There might be a new setting somewhere.
