Q: Missing config files

I have a similar issue as jamesnw in this post [Both Controllers disconnected... what to do?|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2613350&tstart=0]. Neither MDC is showing in Xsan Admin. However the volume appears to be fine and clients are connected.

I tried restoring a config backup but that did not work. I also removed Xsan from MDC1, reinstalled and connected it to the San again. Still no luck. After some more work in the config folder I was able to get MDC1 to see MDC2 but not itself.

The San appears to be fine but Xsan Admin is really confused. Anybody seen this? Why would config files disappear?
