How to fix error message: PrintJobMgr failed

Peruse the hits from this google search: *PrintJobMgr site:apple.com*.

My name is Syd and I work for Epson America, Inc.

Try the following.

1. Power off the printer
2. Open System Pref. and Print/Fax
3. Highlight the R2400 printer
4. Click on the "-" sign
5. Close Print and Fax
6. Open your Mac's Hard Drive
7. Open the Library Folder
8. Open Printer Folder and delete the Epson Folder
9. Open the PPDs folder find the Epson R2400....gz and delete the file
10. Close the PPD and the Printer folder
11. In the Library folder Open the Caches Folder
12. Delete the Epson folder
13 Open Mac's Hard Drive \Users\Account Name (not Shared)\Library\Preferences\com.apple/epson.....print....plist -----------delete all of them (anything with Print...plist)
14. Restart the Mac
15. Power on the printer
16. Click on the Apple Icon and System Update
17. Follow the directions to install the new driver

I had this same error, due to a recent upgrade to 10.6.4, on a HP 5100 deskjet.
I found a simple version of the above solution works just fine 🙂
- - *Open SystemPreferences-->Print&Fax*
- - *Highlight your problem printer* (hp deskjet 5100 for me)
- - ( Delete it... ) Click the Minus [-] at the bottom of the list.
- - ( re− Add it...) Click the Plus [+] next to it.

When my printer is connected to the AirPort express I see:
hp deskjet 5100 . . . Bonjour

*When you re-Add the printer, there is a change that may be critical:*
-Select your printer,
- Click on the *Print Using:* drop down
-- Click *"Select Printer Software..."*
+type hp and wait, or scroll down+
-- Click on *"HP DeskJet Series"*

- Click [OK] then [Add]

And you should be good to go.

(Note: If connected locally to USB, then you would start there.)
(Note: The Supplies only show when you are connected locally to USB on this one.)

just delete and re-add the drive in the print & fax in the system preference
it worked for me!

Yep! worked for me too after migrating from a Tiger environment machine to a Snow Leopard one, thanks to both Syd and Polar Bear

Your solution worked for my father's Epson Stylus Photo R2880, he is very relieved to have regained the use of his expensive printer.

I just hope other Epson customers experiencing the problem are able to find this solution, otherwise they may not be Epson customers for much longer!
