This development may be of some interest to Flash video fans

[Skyfire iOS browser approved by Apple, converts Flash video to HTML5|http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/10/11/02/skyfireios_browser_approved_by_apple_converts_flash_video_tohtml5.html]

The Skyfire app will be available Thurs, 9:00 AM Eastern Time. It won't handle Flash games or Hulu streaming.

+"...the #1 reason that stops people buying an iPad."+

Yeah, that's probably why the sales have been so terrible.

Good sales, yes, but ,obviously Apple would have sold even more if Flash was onboard. That's a fact. You were the one who asked 'who cares?'. I simply gave you an answer.
Sales figures are irrelevant to the topic.

Where is this "recent survey" you mention? And what percentage is "a lot"?

Can you provide a link. Surveys are only any good if they can be quantified.

100% of the people I surveyed couldn't care less about Flash. I only asked 1 person... my Mom.

Don't know where I saw the survey results. I'll try to find it.
I also couldn't give a stuff about Flash. All I want is to be able to view some of my favourite web-sites on my favourite device as I've said many times before. I couldn't care less how it is delivered.
Still, as we live in the present and not the future, then Flash is important. More to some people than others, but that's life. Accept it.

Apple doesn't need to sort anything out. Adobe has 3+ years to develop a working version of Flash for iOS and they have not.

    The alternative is HTML5.

most textbooks for online colleges are etextbooks accessed only by .swf.

Actually most textbooks I've found on line, those that aren't using ePUB format with proprietary encryption, are encrypted PDFs, not Flash. Adobe similarly needs to come up with a version of Acrobat Reader for the iPad, or otherwise work with Apple to support Adobe's proprietary encryption scheme, but that's a very different subject from Flash support.

Interesting online college. Our local colleges use DRM'd epubs when an ebook version of a textbook is available.
