iPhone Won't Start After Power Cut

hi guys, we had a power cut in the area this afternoon, while i was in the middle of an iphoto session. since then i haven't been able to use iphoto. it starts loading, shows the contour of its window but all in white, and the ever-rotating rainbow-ball.

i've deleted the preferences file but that didn't help.

any solution to this, please?
