How do you clean the screen of a MacBook Pro

Hey everyone,

Just curious what people do to clean the screen of their notebook. I've had mine for about a year and the screen is incredibly dirty, but I don't want to wash it with the wrong things and end up with all kinds of scratches. Any tips would be helpful and very appreciated.

Read MacBook Pro 15-inch Users Guide.pdf that is on your Mac and also hard copy that came with it. page 71,
"Cleaning your MacBook Pro screen To clean your MacBook Pro screen, first shut down your MacBook Pro and unplug the power adapter. Then dampen the included cleaning cloth with just water and wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen."

I spread a towel on a desk, configure the screen at 90 degrees to the keyboard, and lay the screen on the towel with the keyboard pointing straight up, balanced to not tip over.

The corner of a micro-fiber towel soaked in warm water and squeezed to damp does a good job of cleaning the screen. This position allows for added pressure to be applied evenly. The rest of the dry micro-fiber towel then dries the clean screen.
