Using Macbook Air Superdrive with a windows netbook

Is there any reason a Macbook Air Superdrive would not work on a non-Mac net book?

I can't think of any reason why but if there is I would like to know before I buy one.

Don't buy one except for your MBA or Mac Mini...the superdrive does NOT work with any other Mac computer, and certainly with NO PC's. (Incidently, when they first came out a few years ago, the superdrives worked for a very short time with Macbook Pros...they do not work with the updated versions although there are sporadic reports of some people getting them to work.)
