E-mail links won't launch Firefox

This past week, Firefox stopped launching when I clicked on a link within an e-mail in apple mail. I get an error message that reads: No associated application could be found. If Firefox is open before I click on the link, the link opens up as usual. I don't know that I changed anything, intentionally or otherwise, that would affect this.

Anyone have this problem, or know any fixes for it?

I ended up copying the folder "xxxxx.default" within the profiles folder, to my desktop, then uninstalled Firefox, and deleted the Firefox folder within the Application Support folder. From there I did a clean install, deleted all the info from the NEW "xxxxx.default" folder, and copy/pasted all of the file from the OLD "xxxxx.default" folder, and everything works perfectly! All of my bookmarks/settings are as they were, and Firefox will now launch when a link is clicked.
