Blade in Motion?

Question

Is there an equivalent of FCP's Blade tool in Motion? I shorten the content on the time line with the time duration, but is there an easier way?

No blade but you can use several methods to trim. See the help system and search for TRIM.

Under the edit menu there is an item called Split, this will split the selected track at the point of the playhead.
