Splitting/assigning MIDI Channels while recording. Even possible?
Hey guys, I'm using Logic 9.1.3. I've only been using Logic for a few days, but have already learned quite a bit, and am loving it!
i have a midi controller, the Axiom 25, which I mainly use for creating drum beats. What I want to be able to do is to split and assign each drum sound to a MIDI channel in realtime while recording. I've discovered out to split up a MIDI region by pitch, which is almost what I want to do, but I want to be able to do this in realtime, not after the fact.
For example, if I wanted kick, snare, and hi hat, I would have three instrument tracks, one for each drum. I want to be able to play all three at the same time, but have the tracks only receive the data for the corresponding drum.
Is this making sense? Is this even possible??
Thanks!
