Why the delay for a new TV episode? Aired on TV last night, but not avail.
I have a few seasons passes for TV shows (mentalist, stargate SGU, sanctuary, etc)... The episode aired last night and I couldn't download it last night - poor showing iTunes/apple for not providing timely content. I'm paying for it so I don't have to watch commercials, why should I wait for that privilege?
Also, now the latest sanctuary episode aired last night, and it's still not available for purchase/download.
What's with the delay?? First it takes too long in general, and now it's taking extra long?!
Sounds like it's time for a service level on air to available for download.

The time frame to put it up has not even passed. Apple has said that they would be available within 24 hours of airtime, not at the same time.
And it's up to the studios to get them to Apple and then Apple to post them. If Apple does not get it, it won't get put up.

As Chris said, Apple is completely at the mercy of the network/production company. Apple can't post any faster than the provider gives them the video, and that often takes 24 hours or in some cases longer. The networks and production companies are reluctant enough to sell their shows at all (and many just flat refuse, especially in Canada), so there's really no way that Apple can put any real pressure on them to provide the episodes more quickly.
